Inspired by German podcast »Hoaxilla« and dedicated to hosts Alexa & Alexander Waschkau.

In episode 83 (released in 2012) they featured the phenomenon of number stations and describe the urban legends that were created around these, at times spooky voices, reciting an appearantly random sequence of numbers. What's actually behind those numbers is most probably a coded message which needs a one-time-pad to be decoded correctly. What makes exciting fiction doesn't necessarily make an exciting story in real life.

Then we got our hands on a VHS video tape provided to us by German Stasi-Archive (now »Stasi-Unterlagen-Archiv«). It featured a copy of the GDR-state-security educational film »Wer ist wer? (Who is who?)«. We disassambled the mundane and at times laconic commentary and composed a new overall message from those words we found, thus making it sound like a commercial for some totalitarian state.

Convinced that both voice-elements put together make up a highly ambivalent, yet interesting narration of great electronic pop, we finally arrived at this new Hoaxilla Version, which stops your dancing at certain moments if you listen carefully.

That's how 9-4-7 became a 2nd handed hoax that debunked itself.
